You may wonder why a video editor is so interested in ad agencies and social media gurus. Well, I work with these people every day. The more I know about what they are thinking, the quicker I can deliver not only what they think they want, but deliver what they really need.  As video guys, we need to keep up with the latest trends in advertising. I think this article does a great job of illustrating that things just aren’t what they used to be. Visit our website to see how we can help you. www.spectrumvideoandfilm.com

The Changing Face of The Corporate Video Production Industry.

“Technology has had a dramatic effect on the video production industry over the last 5 years. A few years ago video production was a highly specialized service that required very expensive equipment. Today, anyone can pick up some cheap equipment and start making videos. At the same time many businesses are starting to embrace video, primarily on the web, as a means of reaching their audiences with engaging and persuasive new content. It’s both the perfect storm and the perfect opportunity for providers and purchasers of corporate video production services.”  While this quote from Jimm Fox was made in 2011, it continues to sum up the video production industry today.  Clients still tend to get what they pay for, so some caution on the part of the client is advised as they allocate their budgets for video production. Lighting, audio, type of camera and even sets, might be factors in the final product desired. Great article Jimm! As I was reading this article this morning, I realized the extent that connected consumers are using smartphones, iPads, laptops – and even glasses and watches – to access content. For us in the video production business, we have to think smaller, shorter and more concise. Instead of creating one or two longer videos we have to create several shorter videos with simpler graphics and fewer but more impactful images. After reading the article, let us know what you think. Feel free to visit our website to see how we can help you make an impact with today’s consumers.

To me, music is the most important element of any video or film. No matter the subject matter, the music sets the mood, translates the images into feelings and leaves the viewer with a complete understanding of the whole piece. Even if your images are stunning, the wrong music choice will leave the viewer confused and unresponsive to the overall message. This article is full of ideas as to where to find the right music for your project. If you are looking to license a popular song it will step by step show you how to do it. Good stuff! And, if you just want to see how Spectrum Video makes the music work, feel free to check out our website at www.spectrumvideoandfilm.com

Spectrum Video Shoots Aunt Chilada’s Pilot TV Show

The Spectrum team recently brought unsurpassed production value to the Aunt Chilada’s reality show pilot! Over the course of a two-day shoot, the crew captured enough footage to create three different length vignettes under the supervision of Hollywood producer, Billy Derian. Having the ability to capture footage for a sizzle reel, webisode and full-length show introduction under tight deadlines is one of many reason our legendary director John Friesen is invaluable. John then put on his editing cap and worked tirelessly with Robert Troub to produce all three segments on schedule. Stay tuned for Blood, Sweat & Salsa, airing on a television station near you soon!
